If you’re interested in taking the survey, the first step is to take the eligibility screener–this will tell you if you can take the survey. Generally, anyone who attended middle or high school in Vance, Person, or Moore County between 2002-2006 is eligible to take the survey.
-
There are a lot of reasons! Taking the survey helps researchers understand the links between how young people grow up, and what their lives are like as adults. This information can then be used to inform ways to help youth with the issues they may face.
In addition to helping contribute to this knowledge, you’ll also earn a $50 gift card for taking the survey.
-
The survey takes about 30-45 minutes.
-
If you can’t take the survey, you can always refer a friend–-if they’re eligible and take the survey, you’ll earn a $25 gift card.
-
We’ve learned a lot! Check out the research page for more info, but we’re learning about relationships between things like substance use, friendships, family life, etc and how they affect our lives. We’d like to learn even more, like how our childhood experiences affect our lives in adulthood.

The eligibility screener is a couple questions to see if you’re someone who can take the survey. It checks to see if you were at one of the middle or high schools in the early 2000s, and if you took the original survey.
If you are eligible, you will receive an email about the survey from our team. Once that survey is completed (takes about 30-45 min), you will receive a $50 gift card of your choice for your time.
-
Take the eligibility screener! We will follow-up with you if you can take the survey.
-
That’s okay! If you went to one of the schools for a period, you may be eligible. Fill out the screener to start.
-
We want to see how folks are doing in terms of their health, general well-being, and connect their teenage experiences with how they're doing now. We also want to identify what could help improve how people are doing, and make hard things in life easier to manage.
Refer a friend
Not eligible, but know someone who might be? Refer a friend and get a $25 gift card when they complete the survey! We’re eager to reconnect with all study participants. Please share this with your friends and networks!
